We are pleased to announce that DevMatch has officially partnered with Computing For All (CFA) to launch 1,000 careers in IT and Cybersecurity roles by September 2025. The coalition that Computing For All is leading will be an enduring source of new talent for Washington State's tech workforce, for which DevMatch provides a proven platform for work-based learning.
The challenge:
Ensuring that students are equipped with the on-demand skills that employers require among a vast number of careers requires tremendous efforts in training and interviewing. Academic institutions often have long cycles for integrating emerging skills into their curricula, which can be a critical issue in a rapidly evolving industry like IT.
How DevMatch helps:
With DevMatch embedded in a course of study, educators can manage projects that are created and mentored by CFA and its industry partners. Through this platform, scenarios can be developed that students will face on the job, going beyond traditional data structures and algorithms. Students demonstrate their applicable skills in the technologies that are used. The assessments are automatically graded, giving candidates, employers, and Computing For All immediate results to assess their readiness effectively.
"We believe that traditional educational models separate education from work experience, which restricts many students who would prosper from a technical career path. Computing for All has been at the forefront of the career-connected learning initiatives in Washington, and with this partnership, we strengthen our capacity to narrow the gap between industry and workforce. DevMatch will be instrumental in helping us and our partners bring the realities of work to students and candidates in a scalable manner." -Ritu Bahl, CEO
Thanks to our partnership, we are also implementing DevMatch assessments in the classrooms at North Seattle College. This allows instructors to focus on other important tasks instead of spending valuable time sorting project submissions individually. These assessments will provide valuable insights into student performance and help optimize the delivery of course materials.
"Integrating real-world simulations into our assessment process will bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills. Our goal is to ensure that students are not only prepared but confident and ready to excel in the workforce.", Gary Larson, CFA
